MSC Advisory Pty Ltd (“MSCA”) has authorised the distribution of this Financial Services Guide (“FSG”).

Who are we?

The Rask Group Pty Ltd is an Australian-owned financial services and education business which publishes financial education and general financial advice via newsletters, email, audio, video, radio, television, reports, seminars, a public website and members-only websites.

Our goal is to empower Australians to take control of their finances via our free educational resources and paid general financial advice Subscription Services.

Our Subscription Services include:

  • Rask Invest

Rask Invest is a subscription newsletter and member-only website. The cost of a membership is $365 per year, payable at the Commencement Date of the Subscription Service. However, with promotions, the regular price may change from time-to-time. We provide general financial advice on various financial topics, including:

  • ASX and international shares and exchange traded funds (ETFs)
  • Fixed interest products (e.g. term deposits) and cash (e.g. savings accounts)
  • Life and General Insurance
  • Superannuation
  • Managed funds
  • Property, and
  • The economy
  • Special Free Reports, Podcasts and Newsletters

We often publish free written, audio or video reports on finance and investing. This includes a free finance newsletter, which we use to grow awareness for our paid services.

The Services We Are Authorised To Provide

The Rask Group Pty Ltd is an Authorised Representative No. 1264179 of MSC Advisory Pty Ltd (AFSL: 480649) and we are authorised to provide general financial product advice to retail and wholesale clients in relation to the following classes of financial products:

  1. Deposit and payment products;
  2. General insurance;
  3. Life risk insurance products, limited to investment life risk insurance products;
  4. Interests in managed investment schemes;
  5. Securities;
  6. Superannuation;
  7. Retirement savings accounts;

The Rask Group Pty Ltd is limited in the providing of general financial product advice to the content of the following url address – www.raskfinance.com (online or otherwise) or related content.  In providing these services, The Rask Group Pty Ltd and MSCA act on their own behalf and neither The Rask Group Pty Ltd or MSCA are providing these services as your agent or broker.

We provide general financial advice only. That means, the advice does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. How We Use Your Personal Data

We are committed to ensuring your privacy. We have a Privacy Policy, which can be accessed on our website: www.raskfinance.com or by emailing us.

To provide our services, we collect your name, date of birth and email address. We may also keep your telephone number, address or payment details if you provide them to us. If you click on any links to a third party website from www.raskfinance.com and affiliated websites, including when paying for a Subscription Service via PayPal or Stripe, you should be aware that these other sites may have their own privacy and data processing practices.

We may also keep a copy of any correspondence between you and us. This may include your emails, telephone calls and letters. Should you wish to change or remove your information from our database, please write to us.

We do our utmost to keep your information secure and will never disclose any of your personally identifiable information to third parties without express permission. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in maintaining our services, including our website. We will not sell or lend your personal information to any third party.

At times, we may contact you with promotional offers and marketing via email, or we may contact you via phone to help with account related enquiries or to ask for feedback.

How We Are Paid

We make money by charging a subscription fee to access our premium services. For example, to access Rask Invest the usual cost is $365 per year, minus any discounts or promotions.

We do not accept commissions, discounts for products or services rendered, or any other type of third-party incentive or compensation.

As an authorised representative, Rask Group Pty Ltd pays MSCA a fixed annual fee. MSCA does not receive any commissions or incentives from third-party product providers.

How Can You Deal With Us?

You can subscribe for our premium content, such as our Subscription Services, on our website. If you cannot access our website, you can contact us via email (see “How To Contact Us” below). We offer a money-back guarantee period of 7 days from the day the Subscription Service begins.

How Do We Pay Our Staff?

The Rask Group Pty Ltd and its directors and staff receive fixed salaries and, in some circumstances, may be entitled to receive performance-based bonuses. In addition, shareholders are entitled to dividends.

Do You Have Any Relationships Or Associations That Might Influence The Advice?

The Rask Group Pty Ltd, its directors and staff, may deal in or have a financial interest in the securities and other financial products referred to in our publications, our free services or when we give other general financial advice.

All employees must disclose their financial interest or position in any product mentioned as part of our services. You should carefully consider the disclosures we make in our publications. These financial interests should not be considered as a recommendation.

With respect to our model portfolio (part of Rask Invest), we will wait at least five full business days after we publish a buy or sell recommendation before we transact in the security.

The Rask Group Pty Ltd is owned exclusively by the Raszkiewicz family and its directors. We do not have ownership ties with any product provider.

MSCA also does not have any associations or relationship with the providers of products recommended by The Rask Group Pty Ltd that would impact upon the advice that we provide.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

MSCA has professional indemnity insurance in place that satisfies the requirements for compensation arrangements under section 912B of the Corporations Act. We also hold professional indemnity insurance. These insurance policies cover the services provided by us and our representatives after they cease working with us. The compensation arrangements that MSCA has satisfy the requirements for compensation arrangements under section 912B of the Corporations Act 2001.

What Should I Do If I Have A Dispute Or Complaint?

While we aim to do our best at all times, sometimes disputes can arise and/or you may have a complaint. We take these very seriously and try to resolve them as soon as possible.

To better help you, we have developed an internal dispute resolution process and MSCA is part of an independent dispute resolution scheme.

Alternatively, you can use the ‘contact us’ page on our website or write to us using the mailing address information below. We’ll work with you to address your complaint. You may also contact MSCA using their mailing information (see “How Can I Contact You?”).

If you think the outcome from our internal processes is not satisfactory, you may refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, of which MSCA is a member (member number 36916).
